What “organic” actually means on your plate
“Organic” gets used loosely enough that it's worth being precise about what we mean by it. For us, it starts with no synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, but it doesn't end there.
Every farm we work with is visited before it's onboarded, and again at least twice a season. We're checking soil health, water source, and how workers are treated — not just what's sprayed on the crop.
Where formal certification exists, we ask for it. Where it doesn't (common for smaller growers), we rely on direct relationships and repeat visits instead of a stamp on a form.
